 ALTERNATIVE UK PICS

Pic seven, from Matthew, shows a very rare photo opportunity with Grand Central class 43, 43480 passing through Wigan NW station with a Heaton-Crewe (LNWR works) move. The date was 21st September 2013.

Bob McClellan has sent in the following three pics. Pic eight is of a Guinness liveried class 08 diesel shunter, 08022 Lion, taken at Wallingford on the Cholsey & Wallingford Railway. The pic is dated 31st August 2013. A giant harp is positioned on the front grill of the locomotive.

BR 'Standard' class '4' 2-6-4T, No.80104, is pictured next in Bob's second shot, number nine overall. This shot was taken from Corfe Castle on the Swanage Railway, the date - 4th September 2013.

Another Cholsey & Wallingford Railway pic is next from Bob. Class 08, 08123 George Mason, is pictured heading 'The Bunk' special, part of the music, beer and dance festival (Bunkfest) held at Wallingford. The pic is dated 31st August 2013.

Our final pic is from Colin Platt. Taken at the recent Llangollen Gala, Colin's shot shows ex GWR '2884' class 2-8-0, No.3802, at Berwyn Station with a passenger service on 31st August 2012.

Voting continues for the 'Pic of the Month', August 2013 competition. The voting system is simple - just send me the yellow August code numbers of the three pics you have chosen as 1st, 2nd and 3rd in each section, Winwick, and Alternatives (UK and World combined). All August dated pics posted between 15th August and 6th September are eligible, and have code numbers. My email address is at the top of the blog. Everyone, contributors or not, can vote.
