More Foreign Pics

Today's post, 26th August 2016, follows on from the previous post by including more railway pics taken abroad. Eighteen pics are featured from six contributors.


WINWICK and BEYOND


The first nine pics are all from the UK. Up first are three pics from Geoff Monks all taken on the same date - 17th August 2016. The first features double heading DRS class 68s, 68004 Rapid and 68017 Hornet at Golborne, on the Daventry - Mossend 'Tesco Express'.







Pic 2 shows DBC (DB Cargo) class 60, 60066 in Drax livery, near Mobberley on a Peak Forest - Dallam aggregate working.









DBC class 67, 67015 is up next taken in the cutting at Moore heading the Manchester Piccadilly - Llandudno service.










The following pics were taken by Jeff Nicholls. A 'smoky' EWS (DBC) class 66  66138 is pictured hauling the Dollands Moor-Irvine china clay tanks - an unusual working for a class 66.








Jeff's next shot shows the DBC class 67, 67015 pushing the 07.38 Chester - Manchester Piccadilly train up Earlestown Bank.









Now the norm, a pair of 68s is shown in this pic from Jeff taken from Burtonwood Road across the hay bales. The working was the 'Tesco Express' as described above.


















The two pics above are from John Smith. Both were taken on 13th August 2016 at St Helens Central and feature front and rear class 57s on the Chester - Edinburgh 'Special'. They were 57312 Solway Princess top, and 57305 Northern Princess, tail -  in Northern Belle livery.




The following shot is from Alan Rigby taken at Winwick on 22nd August 2016. Depicted is GBRf class 92, 92032 IMECHE Railway Division working Carlisle Yard - Crewe.









Now for some pics taken by David Wood in Germany and Poland (not much info supplied with each shot unfortunately). This first one was taken at Wuppertal on 1st August 2016.









David's second pic was taken at Frankfurt Oder Station No.5 370 007 1251 was on route to Poznan (Poland) on 2nd August 2016.









The following four shots were all taken in Poland. Number three was taken at Wolsztyn 3rd August 2016.









This one shows Wolsztyn steam shed on 3rd August 2016.











David's fifth and final shot, taken on 6th August 2016 at Zakapone, shows the funicular in the Tatras Mountains.





















The last three shots in this post are from myself. The two shots above show the tea-time Arriva passenger working (Manchester Piccadilly - Llandudno) through Winwick. Top (left) is DBC class 67, 67015 and tail (right) is Driving Brake Van, 82308. The pics are dated  24th August 2016.





Also taken at Winwick on the same date was DRS class 66, 66423 heading an engineers working.








The final shot from me features the 'Russell' intermodal headed by Freightliner PowerHaul class 70, 70006. date - 24th August 2016 again.

From GB to Germany and Norway.

What a post I can bring to you today, 12th August 2016 - nineteen pics from only 3 contributors, but covering three countries.


WINWICK and BEYOND


First up are twelve pics from Alan Rigby. The first seven of Alan's pics were taken in Germany. Number one was taken in Oberhausen Yard on 8th July 2016. Featured is diesel shunter, 295 057, on a short tank working.







The following two shots were taken at Bremen on 4th July 2016. This one shows a DB shunter, 294 655, on a longer freight working.








Pic three shows electric loco 119 010; according to the Internet the MKB logo indicates local freight railways in the Minden Area. The pic is dated 4th July 2016.








Alan's fourth shot was taken on 6th July 2016 at Wurzburg. Electric loco 189 456 is pictured with a long freight working of tanks.









Taken at Wurzburg on the same date was DB electric loco 151 157 on a car transporter working.









The following two pics (six and seven) from Alan, produced as a montage, shows steam loco No.38 2267 in two guises - retro black and white and colour. Both shots were taken on 8th July 2016 at the preserved railway at Bochum Dalhausen. 










The following five shots from Alan depict shots from closer to home. Pic number eight was taken at Winwick on 12th July 2016 and shows WCRC class 37, 37516 Loch Laidon, working 'light engine', Carnforth - Butterley. 






Alan's ninth shot features double heading DB class 90s, 90024 and 90019 - the latter was named Multimodal earlier this year.  The working was Mossend - Daventry with 90024 sporting sparkling Malcolm livery.







Two ex LMS steam locos are up next.  The first pic (number ten) shows Fowler/Stanier 'Royal Scot' class 4-6-0, No.46100 Royal Scot, passing through Winwick with support coach on 4th August 2016.








Alan's next steam shot features Stanier 'Jubilee' class 4-6-0, No.45699 Galatea, on a Carnforth - Southall loco move through Winwick on 8th August 2016.








Double heading 'light engine' Colas Freight class 56s - 56087 and 56113 - are the focus of shot number twelve from Alan. The location was Winwick, the date was 4th August 2016 and the working was Washwood Heath - Carlisle.







Geoff Monks is up next with a couple of Winwick shots. His first features Freightliner PowerHaul class 66, 66528, on 31st July 2016 with a Southwaite - Crewe engineers train.








The unique Freightliner PowerHaul class 66, 66623 Bill Bolsover is up next at Winwick on 6th August 2016. The working was Hardendale - Guide Bridge.







Jeff Nicholls winds up this post with five shots taken in Norway. The first shows two electric locos on the Flam Railway which is only 20km long but climbs to 3000ft. Pic is dated 30th July 2014.








The next two shots (two and three, from Jeff) are montaged for effect. Top and tailing electric locos are shown on the Flam Railway at Flam working a 6-coach service to Myrdal; pic is dated 30th July 2016.





Pic number four from Jeff shows a pair of 'Green Cargo' locos (1433 and 1438) stabled at Trondheim, between jobs, on 28th July 2016








The fifth and final shot from Jeff features an old blue electric loco, preserved on Trondheim University campus. It was the first electric loco in Norway, serving from 1908 to 1963. It carries the number '3' and name, Ohma Electra.
