Class 20's on a Railtour

As the title describes this post, 5th October 2013, features an unusual railtour, headed or topped and tailed by two class 20 locos, touring England and Scotland. This post also includes the final few September dated pics to qualify for the Pic of the Month - September 2013. Voting can start for the September competition on 8th October 2013.

First up are four pics from Jeff Nicholls. Pic number one shows DRS top and tail class 37s, 37612 and 37038 on a Crewe-Wigan-Warrington-Liverpool Lime Street-Manchester Victoria-Ince Moss Network Rail Test Train. The train is passing through Winwick on 2nd October 2013.

Jeff's second shot is of the same working on the same day at the same location but as the pic suggests on a different line, after the tractors got stuck into the field.

Jeff's third pic is of the restored Stanier 'Jubilee' class 4-6-0, No.45699 Galatea. Jeff says the this was the first time for over fifty years that he had seen this loco and how superb does Galatea look in gleaming LMS red. The location was Golborne and the date 28th September 2013. The railtour was the 'Lune Rivers Trust Special'.
