Ten Pics from Far and Wide

Our contributors travel far and wide for their photography and today, 16th September 2012, is no exception. Winwick, Colton Junction and Turku (Finland) are just three of the locations in today's post. The ten pics are from seven photographers.


WINWICK


Our first pic is from Alan Rigby. The ever-present blue class 60, 60074 Teenage Spirit, is shown at the Ferry Inn with LBT - FFPS loaded coal hoppers. The date was 5th September 2012.

John Smith has sent in pic number two featuring GBRf class 66, 66730 Whitemoor, with a Carlisle - Whitemoor Yard loaded spoil working. The location was Winwick and John's pic is dated 4th September 2012.

Pic number three shows a double heading pair of electric locos standing at Bank Quay (south bay) on 14th September 2012. The locos were First ScotRail liveried class 90, 90021 and EWS (DBS) class 92, 92003 Beethoven.

Ken Young has provided an older pic to close this Winwick area section, pic number four. The 'Deltic' D9009 Alycidon is shown at Bank Quay, light engine, on 26th July 2012.

David Wood has provided the first pic in this section, pic number five overall. Featured again (its been around for a couple of weeks now) is the blue class 60, 60074 Teenage Spirit with LBT - FFPS coal working on 5th September 2012. The location was Whiston.

The next pic, number six, is from Bob McClellan. The TATA Steel liveried class 60, 60099 is shown on the Copy Pit line between Blackburn and Todmorden; the working was Preston - Lindsey empty tanks and the date, 6th September 2012.

Pic number seven is from Geoff Monks. Taken at Colton Junction on 3rd September 2012 the Kings Cross - Edinburgh train shown is headed by Nationalised East Coast class 91, 91130.

Pic number eight features a class 08 diesel shunter D3429. The pic, from John Smith, was taken at the Chasewater Railway on 8th September 2012. The goods working is shown approaching Brownhills.

Bob McClellan has sent in pic number ten to open this section. Pictured is Finnish class Sr1 No.3036, at Turku, the former capital of Finland. Bob's shot is dated 28th August 2012.
