Local and Preservation Pics

Today's post comprises 22 pics from three contributors.


WINWICK AND BEYOND


The first 9 pics are from David Quayle, all taken at Bewdley during the recent SVR Gala.


His first shows 0-6-0T locomotive No.323 Bluebell; a class 'P' design by Harry Wainwright. Outshopped in 1910 for the South Eastern & Chatham Railway, the loco is pictured light engine. The pic is dated 23 September 2017.







Next is an ex LMS, Ivatt class '4' 2-6-0, No.43106, nicknamed the 'Flying Pig', heading a passenger service, taken on the same date.








Pic number 3 from David features light engine,  class 'Y14' 0-6-0 tender locomotive, No.564, designed by T.W.Worsdell for the GER in 1912. The pic is also dated 23 September 2017.










Following on is an ex GWR class '5700', 0-6-0PT No.7714, outshopped in 1930; the pic date is the same. The loco is hauling a 'toad' van - a GWR brake van with an open veranda and a large cabin.







In this shot, both of the locos pictured immediately above are shown together i.e Nos 564 and 7714 on the same date. No.7714 is taking on water from the famous tank.








An ex SR, Bulleid 'Battle of Britain' class 4-6-2, No.34053 Sir Keith Park is up next from David, also taken light engine, at Bewdley on 23 September 2017.








No.34053 is pictured again in this pic together with ex SR 'Schools' class 4-4-0, No.30926 Repton, built in 1934 and designed by Richard Maunsell. The date was the same.








Next is ex GWR, 1938-built 'Manor' class 4-6-0, No.7802 Bradley Manor, designed by Charles Collett. The date, again, was 23 September 2017.








Next from David is an ex GWR Hudswell-Clarke 0-6-0ST, No.813,built in 1900. The loco was originally built for the Port Talbot Railway & Docks Company, later amalgamated into the GWR. Pic is dated as above.







Jeff Nicholls is up next with nine pics. His first two were taken at a Llangollen Railway's 'Along South Western Lines' gala. First up is 2-6-2 'Large Prairie' tank No.5199, approaching Carrog, light engine, on 14 October 2017. The loco was introduced in 1929, designed by Charles Collett.






Next from Jeff is is No.34053 Sir Keith Park, described above, also approaching Carrog on the same date.









Pic number 3 features ex L&YR 0-6-0T No.52322 designed by John Aspinall as part of the class '27'. The loco is pictured heading a passenger service out of Ramsbottom during the East Lancs Gala. on 15 October 2017.







John Cameron's famous 'A4' class 4-6-2, No.60009 Union of South Africa, is pictured next crossing  the River Irwell at the same ELR Gala.  The date was the same.







Next is a night shot from Jeff taken at Latchford Sidings on 13 September 2017. The working was F.F. Power Station (FFPS) - Redcar. Pictured is GBRF class 66, 66733 Cambridge PSB.








DB class 67, 67018 Keith Heller, is up next taken at Daresbury, on 12 September 2017. The passenger working was Manchester Piccadilly - Holyhead.








Freightliner class 66, 66523 is depicted next, at Daresbury, with a FFPS-East Usk Yard return working. The pic is dated 12 September 2017.







Freightliner class 66, 66561 is pictured leaving FFPS on 6 September 2017.The working was to York Holgate Yard with coal empties.








Final shot from Jeff features GBRf class 66, 66707 Sir Sam Fay Great Central Railway, from Barnard Street Bridge with a Redcar - FFPS working on 1 September 2017.









Bevan Price has sent in the last 4 shots. His first was taken at Bury Knowsley Street Station  on 14 October 2017. Depicted is Gresley 'A4' class 4-6-2, No.60009, described above.








Second pic from Bevan shows Hunslet 0-6-0 tender locomotive No.2890 converted from a 0-6-0ST. Also in the picture is No.52322 described above. The pic is dated  14 October 2017 and the location was Ramsbottom.








Next are Colas Rail Freight class 70s, 70806 and 70802, top and tailing autoballasters, during the installation of the new 4th track near Huyton Station. This pic is dated 2 October 2017.








The final pic in this post, from Bevan, was taken at Edge Hill on 9 October 2017. Freightliner class 66, 66512 is heading a relaying train whilst Freightliner class 66, 66605 waits (left) to take a ballast train into the cutting.
