The 'Green Duchess'
What lousy weather we are having at present just when some Heritage Steam locos are rostered for passage through Winwick. Today's post, 26th April 2012, features one such loco liveried in 'Brunswick Green', as voted by enthusiasts. I continue to receive a mountain of contributions and it is impossible to post them all - but everyone who sends in pictures will be represented on the blog. Keep sending them in.
WINWICK
Jeff Nicholls is up first with his pic, number one, of the ex LMS Stanier 'Pacific' No.46233, Duchess of Sutherland, sporting her latest livery of 'Brunswick Green'. (According to the Internet she carried this livery from 1952/early 1953 - can anyone clarify?) The loco with support coach is pictured at Bank Quay where it was scheduled to stop but passed slowly through platform 4 without stopping. The pic is dated 25th April 2012.
