
Pic number one depicts the 'new look' Peppercorn 'A1' and is from John Smith. Showing off her 'Brunswick Green' livery the new build 'A1' 4-6-2 loco, 60163 'Tornado', heads empty stock through Winwick on 8th June 2011. The working was Grosmont - Carlisle - Crewe.

The second pic from John shows the tail locomotive on the same empty stock move. The 'Royal Purple' class 67, 67005 Queens Messenger, is the locomotive.

Pic number three is from Jeff Nicholls and is another of his scans from old slides. Two class 25s are shown heading a sand train towards St Helens (Pilkingtons). The locos are 25906 and 25908 double heading the sand wagons through Winwick on 24th July 1986. The starting point was Oakamoor in Staffordshire.

Jeff's second shot is a Royal Mail working through Winwick on 31st May 2011. The demu class 325, 325002, is shown in pictorial, evening lighting.
