Today's post, 23rd April 2012, takes us to several locations within our defined blog areas, those in the post title, and more.
WINWICK
First up is a pic from Jeff Nicholls. Two WCRC class 47s are shown 47804 at the head with 47237 on the tail of a Carnforth - Derby empty coaching stock move. The route was an unusual one according to Jeff - the lower route south out of Bank Quay and past Arpley, because workmen were busy on the high level tracks. Jeff adds "Note also the steam era '10A' shed plate on the front of the loco". Jeff's pic is dated 20th April 2012.
