Due to the huge numbers of contributions to our blog, today's post 2nd March 2012, comprises a record twelve pics from nine photographers. Because space is at a premium, the text is kept to a minimum.
WINWICK
First up is a pic from Jeff Nicholls. DBS class 60, 60007 The Spirit of Tom Kendell, is shown blowing out black exhaust on the Mersey Bridge on a loaded LBT - FFPS coal working on 29th February 2012.

David Wood has sent in shot number two taken at Earlestown, showing bridge repairs, on 28th February 2012. The loco is EWS (DBS) class 60, 60065 Spirit of Jaguar, and the working is coal, once again.

The same loco, 60065, is shown in pic number three from Matthew Chambers. The loco is pictured light engine at Warrington Latchford on 11th February 2012. A Freightliner class 66 on a coal working, can be seen in the background.

Pic number four is another from Matthew Chambers. Bank Quay Low Level is the location and Freightliner class 66, 66531, on loaded coal is the loco - the date was 11th February 2012.

Bob McClellan has sent in pic number five. Featured is Freightliner 'HeavyHaul' class 70, 70013, on a FFPS - Hunterston empty coal working. The location was Golborne and the date, 29th February 2012.

Shot number six shows our first steam loco in this section, and it could hardly be more current. Taken just yesterday, 1st March 2012, BR 'Standard' class 7, No.70013 Oliver Cromwell, was passing through Red Bank, Newton-le-Willows with support coach, heading south. The pic is from Colin Platt.

ALTERNATIVE UK PICS
Pic number seven, the first in this section, is from Matthew Chambers and it's of that 'tug', 60065, again. This pic was taken at Bamfurlong on 19th February 2012; the working was engineers wagons.

The eighth pic is of EWS (DBS) class 67 ('skip') 60022, from Dave Harris. Taken at Landybank Bridge, Bolton, the working was a football special, Horwich Parkway - Wembley. The pic is dated 17th April 2011.
Pics nine and ten are both from David Quayle reflecting his visit to the East Lancashire Railway (ELR) on 25th February 2012. Shot number nine shows BR 'Standard' class 4MT, 2-6-4 tank loco, No.80080, on a freight run at Burrs Country Park.

Pic number ten features BR 'Standard' class 8, 4-6-2, No.71000 Duke of Gloucester, standing at Bury Baron Street.

The eleventh pic was taken at a favoured location for railway photography, Acton Bridge. The photographer was Barry Rigby, the double heading locos were the Royal 'purple' class 67 duo - 67005 Queen's Messenger and 67006, Royal Sovereign - and the date was 28th February 2012.

The final shot, number twelve, is from Alan Rigby. The location was Glasgow Central and the date, 24th February 2012. Pictured is class 314, 314214, in the old Strathclyde livery, but unbranded.
