The winning pic for the Winwick Area was pic number three of the 26th January post. It was taken on the same day, 26th January 2012, at Winwick, by Alan Rigby. Featured is the 'West Country' class 4-6-2 locomotive of Oliver Bulleid, No.34067 Tangmere, complete with support coach. The vertical format adds to the impact.

Andy Parkinson's shot, pic number 6 of the17th January post, came second. The shot shows Freightliner 'HeavyHaul' class 70, 70015 waiting to head into Latchford Sidings working the FFPS - Ellesmere Port empty coal hoppers on 13th January 2012. This was Andy's first pic on our blog so, well done Andy.

The winning pic for the Alternatives section was from Geoff Monks. Charles Collett's 'Hall' class 4-6-0 (ex GWR), No.4953 Pitchford Hall, is shown heading a demonstration mail train at Woodthorpe Lane just south of Loughborough on 28th January 2012. The pic was number five, posted on 5th February.
Second in this section, was pic number five of the 2nd February post, from David Quayle. Pictured is the ex L&NWR class 'G2' 0-8-0, No.49395, (built in 1921) at the East Lancashire Railway Gala at Bury on 21st January 2012.
