Sorry it's taken so long to post again but time is not so easy to find at the present time. Today, 22nd April 2014, eighteen pics are used from 7 contributors.
WINWICK and ELSEWHERE
First up are three pics from David Quayle taken on his recent visit to the Llangollen Railway. Pic one shows ex GWR pannier tank 0-6-0 No.1638 on a parcels charter near Carrog on 8th April 2014.
Ex GWR 2-6-0 'Mogul' No.5322 is up next in this shot taken east of Glyndyfrdwy on a parcels charter on the following day, 9th April 2014.
David's third shot was also taken at the same location with the same charter but showing more of the 'Mogul' locomotive.
The next three pics are all from Jeff Nicholls. Pic number four overall was taken at Crewe Gresty Road's DRS depot; pictured are class 37, 37405 and class 47, 47501. The date was 9th April 2014.
Next up is Jeff's pic of Freightliner class 66, 66504 taken at Kings Sutton. The working was a Southampton - Lawley Street intermodal on 11th April 2014.
Jeff's third pic shows Bulleid 'Light Pacific' 'WC' class 4-6-2, No.34046 Braunton leaving Banbury with the 'Cathedrals Express' railtour. The latter was running Paddington - Stratford on Avon 13th April 2014.
Next up are two shots from Geoff Monks. The first shows class 47, 47832 Solway Princess in Northern Belle livery with a Daventry - Motherwell wagon move on 15th April 2014. The location was Millmeece, between Stafford and Crewe.
Double heading class 66s are pictured in Geoff's second shot taken at Ashley on 16th April 2014. The working was a Tyne Coal Terminal - Tuebrook Sidings biomass trial and the locos - GBRf class 66s - Nos 66716 Locomotive & Carriage Institution Centenary 1911-2011 and 66736.
The following three pics are from John Smith. The first shows double heading Freightliner class 70, 70010 and DRS class 66, 66423. The working was a Crewe - Carlisle engineers train taken on 16th April 2014 at Winwick.
Next is John's pic of the 'Northern Belle' Grand National Special taken at St Helens Junction on 5th April 2014. Pictured is class 47, 47790 Galloway Princess on the tail of the train with 47832 Solway Princess at the head. The return leg, Liverpool - Glasgow, is shown.
Pic eleven, John's third was also taken at St Helens Junction and shows the same Grand National Special from the opposite end of the train, on the same date.
Arpley Yard's DBS red shunter is next, in this shot taken on 3rd March 2013, from David Wood. The identity of the shunter is 09106.
Following failure at Bank Quay a few days earlier, ' Black Five' 4-6-0 No.45407 Lancashire Fusilier is pictured on an ELR - Bristol working where it was booked for a Cardiff - Shrewsbury railtour with class member 44871. The shot, from Jeff Nicholls, was taken at Culcheth on 10th April 2014.
A Ieuan Wood double now follows, the first taken at Winwick on 17th April 2014. EWS (DBS) class 92, 92024 J.S.Bach is pictured with a Mossend - Daventry intermodal.
Ieuan's second shot shows The' Northern Belle' charter at Winwick on 29th April 2014 with 47790 Galloway Princess at the head.
David Hennessey's shot of Freightliner class 66, 66558 is next, taken at Runcorn on 5th April 2014. The intermodal working was heading to Ditton
The penultimate shot is from Jeff Nicholls. First Scot Rail class 90, 90024 is pictured double heading with EWS (DBS) class 92, 92019 Wagner at Culcheth, on a route learning exercise. The pic is dated 26th March 2014.
Last is the 'Streak' of Jeremy Hosking heading the 'Cumbrian Ranger' railtour in this pic from David Quayle. The Gresley 4-6-2 No.4464 Bittern was pictured at Winwick on 15th March 2014. The railtour ran Tyseley - Crewe - Carlisle and return.
