WINWICK
First up today is Geoff Monks' shot of EWS (DBS) class 92, 92019, on a Mossend - Bescot - Hams Hall working. The container flats, with some containers on board, were being hauled through Winwick on 13th January 2012.
The second pic is from Matthew Chambers, another of his fine night shots. It features EWS class 60, 60096, waiting for a crew change at Warrington Bank Quay on 21st December 2009. The working was coal.
Next, number three, is David Woods' pic showing Freightliner class 66, 66560. It was heading a coal working on the Fiddlers Ferry line on 14th December 2011.
The fourth and final pic in this Winwick area section is from Jeff Nicholls. Preserved class 86, 86259 Les Ross, is pictured on the 'Winter Cumbrian Mountain Express' passing southbound, through Winwick, on 4th February 2012. The railtour was Euston- Carlisle via the S&C with the return down the WCML via Shap. Stanier 'Black 5', No.45305, took over the train at Preston.

Five pics in this section. The first, pic number five, is from Matthew Chambers. A consist of four class 20s is shown at Wigan North Western on 21st December 2012 - Nos 20305/04/02/01.
Next up are two pics from David Quayle's GCR Gala experience on 27th January 2012. Pic number six depicts ex GCR class '8K' 2-8-0, No.63601, and BR 'Standard' class 7, No.70013 Oliver Cromwell, both receiving some 'TLC' at Loughborough.
His second shot, number seven, shows three locomotives also at Loughborough. They are Ivatt class '2', 2-6-0, No.46521, ex GNR class 'N2' 0-6-2T, No.1744 (69523), and ex GWR 'Hall' class 4-6-0, No. 4953 Pitchford Hall.
Barry Rigby has sent in pic number eight taken at Quorn Station at the GCR Gala, on 28th January 2012. BR Standard class '7', No.70013 Oliver Cromwell, is the focus again as it passes beneath a road (?) bridge heading a TPO demonstration train.
The last (number nine) but certainly not least pic in this post, and the fifth in this Alternatives section, is from John Smith. 'Super Voyager' class 221/1, 221 106 is shown at Calder Bridge Junction, Wakefield on 6th November 2007. The train is a 'Pioneer' train of First Hull Trains, introduced in 2005.
