WINWICK & BEYOND
Up first is a shot from David Quayle taken at Kearsley Station on 14th February 2016. Pictured are double heading ex LMS locos - 'Black Five' 4-6-0, No.44871 and class '6P' 'Jubilee' 4-6-0, No.45699 Galatea - hauling 'The Tin Bath' Special, running Preston - Sheffield on 14th February 2016.
The next five pics are from Jeff Nicholls. First up is a shot of 0-6-0 tender locomotive No.44422, arriving by road trailer at Bishops Lydeard on the West Somerset Railway. The pic is dated 16th February 2016. The class '4F' tender locomotive is one of four left in preservation and the only one with left hand drive. 772 were built for the Midland Railway and LMS between 1911 and 1927.
The second pic shows the same loco. No.44422 being winched off the trailer at Bishops Lydeard. You can also find this shot from Jeff in the latest RAILWAY MAGAZINE.
Jeff's third shot shows the Europhoenix class 37, 37884 at Red Bank on 12th February 2016. The working was Kilmarnock - Great Central Railway, consisting of repainted Mark III's bound for the original HST stock.
Next from Jeff are top and tailing class 66s at Culcheth on 13th February 2016. Depicted are GBRf class 66, 66727 Andrew Scott CBE, with a GBRf class 66, 66707 on the tail. The working was Trafford Park-Crewe diverted because of the closure of the Crewe - Manchester line.
Jeff's fifth and final pic was taken on Earlestown Bank on 12th February 2016. Pictured is Arriva Trains Wales service, Manchester Piccadilly - Holyhead headed by Arriva liveried class 67, 67001.
David Wood has sent in the following three pics. First up is DBS class 60, 60011 on a Seaforth - Tinsley working on 5th February 2016.
Next is Stanier 'Black Five' 4-6-0, No.44871, on a Blackburn - Castleton (ELR) working taken at Parkside Junction on 15th February 2016.
David's third shot was taken on 25th January 2016 at Acton Bridge. Freightliner class 66, 66544 is on a Runcorn Folly Lane - Brindle Heath working.
The last two shots in this post are from Geoff Monks. First is the Europhoenix class 37, 37884 on a Kilmarnock - Hotchley Hill move on 12th February 2016. The location was Winwick. The coaches were repainted to match the preserved prototype HST, 41001.
Finally, Freightliner class 90, 90041, is pictured passing Stoke-on-Trent station on 15th February 2016. The working was a Trafford Park - Felixstowe intermodal, diverted because of the closure of the Manchester - Crewe line.
