More from the Heritage Lines

ELR, NYMR and SVR are all represented in today's post, 27th September 2014. The fourteen pics have been sent in by four contributors.

WINWICK & ELSEWHERE

First up are three shots from Ieuan Wood. This one was taken at Rainhill on 29th August 2014 and features DRS class 57, 57007 dragging three new class 68s - 68012/13/14.

Ieuan's second shot shows WCRC owned class 57s, 57316 & 57313 on an empty coaching stock move, Old Oak Common - Kilmarnock. The location was Winwick and the date, 30th August 2014.

The familiar logs working is pictured next, again from Ieuan. The locos are Colas Rail Freight class 56s, 56096 and 56105. The location was Bank Quay and the date, 13th September 2014.

David Quayle has sent in the following four shots from his recent visits to the ELR and SVR.  First up is the recently restored No.13065 (42765). Designed by George Hughes for the LMS the class of 245, 2-6-0 ‘Crabs’ was built between 1926-1931 under CME, Sir Henry Fowler. The latter had replaced Hughes following his retirement. Restored and based at the ELR, the loco looks resplendent in its LMS 'Crimson Lake' livery. The location was Bury and the date, 21st September 2014.

David's second shot features the ex S&DJR, blue-liveried class '7F' 2-8-0, No.88 (53808). The location was Bewdley on the SVR and the date, 18th September 2014.

Up next is another SVR shot, this one taken at Highley on 19th September 2014. Pictured are Bulleid 'Battle of Britain' class 4-6-2, No.34053 Sir Keith Park and Drummond 'M7' class 0-4-4 tank, No.30053.

David's fourth shot focuses on the Victoria Bridge over the River Severn. Taken on 19th September 2014 on the SVR, the loco heading passenger stock is the 'M7' class 0-4-4T No.30053.

The next three shots are from Jeff Nicholls. First up is EWS (DBS) class 92, 92037 Sullivan, heading the northbound Tesco Express through Winwick on 24th September 2014.

Jeff's second shot shows WCRC class 57, 57313 heading a former LMS Inspection Saloon on a Carnforth - Crewe working. The pic is dated 24th September 2014.

GBRf class 66, 66703 Doncaster PSB 1981-2002 is pictured next on a route learning working passing the 'Pink Eye' landmark, Warrington, on 13th August 2014.

The next four shots are from myself. My wife and I were in North Yorkshire for a few days recently and I took the following shots on the NYMR. Up first is the 100th Gresley-designed 'Pacific', named in his honour - 'A4' class No.60007 Sir Nigel Gresley. The location was shot just before the road crossing, outside the Grosmont signal box. The date was 22nd September 2014.

My next shot features Stanier 'Black Five' 4-6-0, No.44806, approaching Goathland with a passenger service from Grosmont; plenty of 'clag' in the exhaust. In the foreground, held in the station, is a passenger service to Whitby headed by class 25, D7628 (25278) Sybilla (light grey roof). The shot is dated 24th September 2014. The pic was taken from the footbridge.

The same loco is shown again in my third shot, taken at Grosmont on 22nd September 2014. No.44806 is pictured moving empty passenger stock, under the signal gantry, into the station for a Pickering service.

A scene from Grosmont shed is my fourth shot and the last one in this post. Taken on 22nd September 2014 the pic shows class 37, 37264 in BR 'large logo' blue livery - the 'fog' is wind blown exhaust from steam loco No.60007 Sir Nigel Gresley.
