David Quayle has sent in the following four shots from his recent visits to the ELR and SVR.  First up is the recently restored No.13065 (42765). Designed by George Hughes for the LMS the class of 245, 2-6-0 ‘Crabs’ was built between 1926-1931 under CME, Sir Henry Fowler. The latter had replaced Hughes following his retirement. Restored and based at the ELR, the loco looks resplendent in its LMS 'Crimson Lake' livery. The next four shots are from myself. My wife and I were in North Yorkshire for a few days recently and I took the following shots on the NYMR. The date was 22nd September 2014.

My next shot features Stanier 'Black Five' 4-6-0, No.44806, approaching Goathland with a passenger service from Grosmont; plenty of 'clag' in the exhaust. In the foreground, held in the station, is a passenger service to Whitby headed by class 25, D7628 (25278) Sybilla (light grey roof). The shot is dated 24th September 2014. The pic was taken from the footbridge.

The same loco is shown again in my third shot, taken at Grosmont on 22nd September 2014. No.44806 is pictured moving empty passenger stock, under the signal gantry, into the station for a Pickering service.

A scene from Grosmont shed is my fourth shot and the last one in this post. Taken on 22nd September 2014 the pic shows class 37, 37264 in BR 'large logo' blue livery - the 'fog' is wind blown exhaust from steam loco No.60007 Sir Nigel Gresley.
