'Pics of the Month, March 2013' - RESULTS + More April shots

Here are the results for the March monthly competition: congratulations to Alan Rigby and David Quayle. Also in today's post, 3rd May 2013, I have added ten more pics for the April competition. Apologies to those I have not used but I was inundated with pics. Also, please read the important info' on Old Alder Lane at the base of this post.

First up in this section is Colas class 56, 56105, taken at Bamfurlong. The working was the Carlisle - Chirk logs, the date was 20th April 2013 and the photographer was Matthew Chambers.

David Quayle has sent in pic number four showing the restored railmotor No.93 coupled with autocoach No.92. Also in the pic is the front end of Stanier 'Black Five' No. 44806. The pic is dated 20th April 2013. The location was Glyndyfrdwy on the Langollen Rlwy.

Geoff has also sent in pic number six. Ex BR 'Standard' class '4MT' 2-6-4, No.80080 is pictured departing northwards from Bury Bolton Street on the ELR. The working was for driving experience with a load of four vans. The pic is dated 21st April 2013.

Last but not least is Bob McClellan's shot of Bulleid 'WC' class 4-6-2, No.34067 Tangmere, pic number ten. The loco arrived at Peak Rail with a railtour from Kings Cross on 14th April 2013.

The voting system is simple - just send me the yellow April code numbers of the three pics you have chosen as 1st, 2nd and 3rd in each section, Winwick, and Alternatives (UK and World combined). All April dated pics posted between April 15th and today, 3rd May, are eligible and have code numbers. My email address is at the top of the blog. Everyone, contributors or not, can vote.


IMPORTANT  The restriction to Old Alder Lane will not affect our prime photographic location at Winwick. It will begin at the bottom of th hill at the bend. See map.
