Mixed Traction

Today's post, 15th April 2013, is a large one as spare time has been alien to me recently. Fifteen pics are used from seven contributors.


WINWICK



First up are a couple of shots from Jeff Nicholls. Number one features the class 55 'Deltic' 55009 (D9009)  Alycidon on a Pathfinder Tours 'Special' passing through Culcheth. The working was Crewe - Edinburgh and the date, 6th April 2013.

Pic number three is from Alan Rigby. Pictured is DRS class 57 57313 on the rear of of an empty stock move Hereford-Carnforth on 7th April 2013. DRS class 57 57316 was up front.

Another pic from Alan, number four overall, shows WCRC class 47, 47425 dragging The AC Locomotive Group's class 87, 87002 Royal Sovereign through Winwick, on 11th April 2013. The working was Carlisle - Willesden.

Pic number five is another from Jeff Nicholls. Depicted is DBS class 60, 60092 on coal empties at Hall Nook Crossing on the FFPS line.The working was to LBT via Latchford on 2nd April 2013.

Picture number six has been sent in by Ieuan Wood. A Northern Belle empty stock move is pictured at Earlestown on 9th March 2013. DRS class 47, 47828 is at the head with Northern Belle liveried class 47 (of DRS) 47832 Solway Princess, just behind.

Ieuan Wood has sent in another Northern Belle pic, number seven overall, taken at Larch Lane on 10th March 2013. DRS (in N.B. livery) 47832 Solway Princess is at the head of this 'Special' from Liverpool Lime Street.






Pic number eight is from Alan Rigby. Ex SR Bulleid 'Pacific' No.34028 Eddystone is shown at Norden on the Swanage Railway. The date was 3rd April 2013.

Ex GWR Churchward/Collett class '2884' 2-8-0, No.3850, built at Swindon in 1942, is shown next in pic number ten. The location was Stogumba Station (opened 1862,  re-opened 1978 on the WSR) and the date, 9th March 2013. This pic is from Paul Holland.






The AC Locomotive Group's class 87, 87002 Royal Sovereign is up next, in pic number eleven from Matthew Chambers. The loco is seen standing at Carlisle on 23rd March 2013.







Ex GWR Churchward class '2800' 2-8-0, No.2857 is featured next in this shot, number twelve, from David Quayle. David kept his camera out in the snow on 23rd March 2013 at Bewdley on the SVR, and was rewarded for his effort.






Also at Bewdley on 21st March 2013 David took this shot, number thirteen, of a trio of locos. Lining up were ex GWR 2-6-2 Prairie tank No.5164, ex GWR 2-6-2 'Prairie' tankNo.4566 and ex BR 'Standard' class '4' 2-6-4T, No.80072.







DBS class 60, 60059 Swinden Dalesman is pictured heading tanks through Tamworth on 29th March 2013. The photographer was Matthew Chambers.







Finally, pic number fifteen, has been sent in by Jeff Nicholls. Double heading Freightliner class 86s, 86628 and 86607 are shown at Acton Bridge on a Crewe - Garston working, on 10th April 2013.
