As this is the final day for May dated pics to qualify for the 'Pic of the Month', May 2012 competition, all fourteen pics (from ten contributors) in today's post, 6th June 2012, were taken in May.
Note: I have been asked to place the following on the blog - there has been a blue notebook on the bench at Winwick for several days; if you've lost it you know where it is now.

First up is a pic from Jeff Nicholls taken at Bank Quay on 30th May 2012. Pictured is the Malcolm liveried class 66, 66434, on an intermodal working.

Shot number two is from John Smith. The ex GWR 'Castle' class 4-6-0, No.5043 Earl of Mount Edgcumbe, is shown passing through Red Bank on 26th May 2012 with a railtour.

John was also on hand a little later on the same day at Red Bank to shoot the flasks working, pic number three. Two DRS class 57s, Nos 57007 and 57009, were at the head of a single spent nuclear fuel flask.

The fourth pic was sent in by Andy Parkinson. Depicted is 'Royal Purple' liveried class 67, 67006 Royal Sovereign, heading wagons for repair from Arpley to Springs Branch. The location was Winwick and the date, 23rd May 2012.

The seventh shot has been sent in by John Smith. Featured is EWS (DBS) class 60, 60045 The Permanent Way Institution, on a LBT-FFPS working on 5th May 2012. The location was Collins Green.

Geoff Monks's shot of DBS red class 60, 60059, is next, pic number eight. The location was Ashley and the working was Tunstead - Oakleigh loaded limestone. This pic is dated 27th May 2012.

The next shot, number nine, is from Brian Rigby. The 'new build' Peppercorn 'A1' 4-6-2 No.60163 Tornado is pictured at Horton Bank, after leaving Blackburn with a railtour on 31sy May 2012.

Pic number ten is another from Geoff Monks. Arriva liveried class 67, 67001 is shown on a Cardiff-Holyhead express on 23rd May 2012. The location was just south of Whitchurch.

BR 'Standard' class '7', No.70013 Oliver Cromwell, is next, pic number twelve. The pic, from Bob McClellan, was taken at Peak Rail on 27th May 2012. The 'Brit' was heading the very first through train from Kings Cross to Rowsley, via Matlock, but arrived 2.5 hours late.
