Four Winwick; Seven Alternative Pics

As titled above, today's post 16th May 2012, comprises eleven pics sent in by eight contributors - three steam gala pics from around the Heritage Lines and eight modern traction.



WINWICK




First up is Jeff Nicholls' pic of a new 11-car Pendolino 390 157. The pic was taken at Bank Quay on 9th May 2012.

Next, pic number two, is from David Wood. DBS class 60, 60091, is shown on coal duty through Winwick on 9th May 2012.

Shot number three has been sent in by Alan Rigby. The rape field at Winwick is again prominent in this pic of Arriva class 175, 175 001, on 2nd May 2012.

A diesel shunter is up next, pic number four, from Mathew Chambers. It was taken on 3rd April 2012 and the location was Arpley.

Pic number five, the first in this section, is from Alan Rigby. The location was Manchester Oxford Road and the date, 9th May 2012. The loco is Freightliner class 66, 66740, heading a Barton Dock - Felixstowe working.

An East Midlands Trains class 158, 158 866  is next, pic number six, from John Smith. The working was a Liverpool - Norwich diversion through St Helens Junction on 5th May 2012.

Out seventh shot has been sent in by Bob McClellan and is another of his Llangollen shots of 26th April 2012. Depicted is 0-8-0 'Super D' No.49395, re-numbered to 49121 for a one-off 'special'.









Freightliner class 90, 90049, is shown in pic number eight from Ken Young. The working was an intermodal and the location, Garston. Ken's pic is dated 28th March 2012.










David Quayle has provided the two following shots, both taken at the recent SVR Gala. Pic number nine was taken at Bewdley and shows the ex GWR 'Manor' class 4-6-0 No.7812 Erlestoke Manor, light engine, on 23rd March 2012.









David's second shot, number ten is of three locos -  No.7812 (as above), class '3F', 0-6-0T tank engine No.47406  and ex LNER class 'A4' 4-6-2, No.4464 Bittern. All are lined up at Bewdley Station. This pic is dated 22nd April 2012.








The final shot in this post, number eleven, is from Matthew Chambers. Pictured is EWS (DBS) class 66, 66152, on an engineers working through Bamfurlong on 29th January 2012.









Note the code number attached to each monthly qualifying pic from now on, following a contibutor's suggestion, to make it easier to vote. Only starts for the May monthly competition though, when voting commences from June 6th. Meanwhile voting continues for our April competition in the old way - see guidelines in the previous post. Please vote if you havn't already done so.
