Continuing our theme of photographs taken outside our normal patch, today's post 3rd July 2011 comprises four pics from four (of five) contributors who have sent in work so far. Come on, where are the others.....
Pic number one is from Jeff Nicholls. A threesome of GWR hydraulic diesels is shown at an Old Oak Common Open Day, 15th August 1991. They are 'Hymek' class 35, D7018, 'Warship' class 42, D832 Onslaught and 'Western' class 52, D1015 Western Champion.
John Smith has sent in shot number two. Two industrial workhorses, 0-4-0 saddle tanks, in superb condition, are shown on the Ribble Steam Railway at Preston Docks, on 12th February 2011. Stunning sky, John.
Our third pic is from Geoff Monks and shows the Deltic (D9000) 55022 Royal Scots Grey on recent GBRf contract freight duties. It is pictured leaving North Blyth ALCAN terminal on a loaded alumina working. The destination was the ALCAN Works at Lynemouth. The pic was taken from the North Blyth steam shed on 4th May, 2011.
The final pic is from Paul Holland and features the Churnet Valley Railway, near Leek, Staffs. Taken on 2nd May 2011 the loco is a 2-6-2 large Prairie tank No.5199 of Charles Collett, heading BR passenger stock.
