More Older Pics

Bob McClellan was very active taking railway pics on 'our patch' in 2005. We have already seen some in previous posts and today's post (10th December 2010) includes two more. Alan Sherratt has provided a third, even older pic, taken in 1992.
Pic number one from Bob shows LMS class '5XP' (Jubilee) 4-6-0, 5690 Leander on a southbound returning railtour on 28th August 2005. The location was Red Bank.

Bob's second shot is of another classic steam locomotive, BR class '8P' 4-6-2, 71000 Duke of Gloucester. In the shot, the loco is approaching Newton-le-Willows on the ill-fated railtour of 17th September 2005, when it ran out of water at Stalybridge.

Alan's pic - a scan or copy photo - features class 86, 86602, heading sodium carbonate tanks at Dallam, on 12th September 1992.
