This post, 8th January 2014, is dedicated to the winners of the November 2013 competition. Congratulations to Jeff Nicholls, Alan Rigby and Barry Rigby for their successes. There will be no winners for December as there were not enough pictures posted. With that in mind I am now compiling the overall winners - Picture of the year entries will be shown in the next post; best Winwick photographer overall and best Alternatives photographer overall will also be named in the next post. I have a few pics from January to add also.
Unless there are strong objections there will be no competitions next year - the blog will revert to its previous and original format, simply providing a forum for photographers.

1st= November W10 Jeff Nicholls
A NRTT (Network Rail Test Train) is featured in this pic from Jeff. NR liveried class 97, 97301 is pictured with DRS class 37, 37194 sandwiching the test car Mentor. The location was Parkside Junction and the date, 20th November 2013.
1st= November W13 Alan Rigby
Alan's shot was taken at Winwick on 22nd November 2013 and depicts double-heading DRS class 37s. The locos were 37601 and 37261 on a Daventry - Coatbridge intermodal.

Barry's pic shows Stanier 'Jubilee' class 4-6-0, No.45699 Galatea, climbing past Greenholme at about 20mph after being put in the loop at Tebay to allow a Pendolino to pass. The pic is dated 9th November 2013.

This shot of Ieuan's shows ex BR 'standard' class 4-6-2, No. 70013 Oliver Cromwell, at Beeston on 30th November 2013. The working was a Bristol-Crewe 'Special'.
2nd= October A12 Geoff Monks
Another shot of Oliver Cromwell, Bristol-Crewe-Bristol is next from Geoff Monks. The shot was taken at Hargrave (between Chester & Crewe) on the same date 30th November 2013 on the outward leg.
