Add a BR 'Standard' class '5' to the list in the post title and you have a superb selection of steam locos in today's post, 15th October 2013. Plenty of diesel traction also among the eleven pics from four contributors.

 

WINWICK

  

First up are three shots from Ieuan Wood. Pic number one shows Stanier 'Pacific' No.46233 Duchess of Sutherland on a Butterley - Hellifield move, with support. the location was Winwick and the date, 11th October 2013.

Ieuan's next shot features Malcolm liveried class 66, 66434 on an engineer's working. The date was the same, 11th October 2013 and the location was Winwick.

Stanier 'Jubilee' class 4-6-0, No.45699 Galatea is next, pic number three, again from Ieuan. The 'special' was for  the Lune Rivers Trust, the date was 28th September 2013, and the location was Winwick.  

 

 

 

 

 

The following four pics are all from Jeff Nicholls. Pic number four overall shows DRS class 66, 66422 on a Coatbridge - Daventry intermodal. The pic was taken from beneath the M62 bridge at Winwick on 5th October 2013.

Jeff's second shot, number five overall, features a Cleethorpes - Shrewsbury railtour headed by WCRC class 37, 37706. The loco was to be replaced by a steam double header of Galatea and The Great Marquess at Crewe. The location was Winwick and the date, 5th October 2013.

 For interest Jeff has written an eight page article on 'Warrington in the 1980's ' for the current Traction magazine, using his own pics. Great to see one of our own contributors taking on such work.

 

 

The final pic in this section, number seven, is the fourth from Jeff Nicholls. A Network Rail Test Train (NWTT) is pictured at Winwick on 2nd October 2013. Three yellow coaches are sandwiched between DRS class 37s - 37612T & T37038.

At the same Gala Geoff photographed the ex SR small 'Pacific' of Oliver Bulleid, No.34070 Manston, from the 'WC'/'BoB' classes. The location was Woodthorpe Lane and the working, a buffet car service to Leicester North. The pic is date 6th October 2013.
