'Pics of the Month, May 2013'. RESULTS

Congratulations to David Wood and Andy Parkinson, the winners of our competitions for May. Today's post, 3rd July 2013, shows the leading entries for May.

I will follow this post with another in the next couple of days and show the final June pics to qualify for the June competitions.  Apologies if some of your June pics are overlooked but I cannot show all entries - I have been inundated with pics lately.


WINWICK

1st May W3  by David Wood


A Network Rail train is shown at Winwick with DRS class 37s in charge. They were 37602 (Top) and 37610 (Tail). The date was 8th May 2013.

Same as above. Two DRS class 37s are featured which were regulars on our patch at the beginning of May. In this pic three Network Rail measurement coaches are sandwiched between DRS class 37, 37602 (top) and DRS class 37, 37610 T.S. Cassady (tail). The pic is dated 8th May 2013 and the location was Winwick

Two class 37s and a class 66 are shown about to pass at Winwick on 1st May 2013. The two DRS class 37s were 37611 (Top) and 37603 (Tail) with a Network Rail train; the DRS class 66 was 66433, on an intermodal working.

Andy's pic shows the Thompson 'B1' class 4-6-0, No.60103 Mayflower at Bamfurlong. The loco and support coach were on a Washwood Heath - Carnforth run on 1st May 2013.

Class 20, 20227, in London Underground livery is featured with class 20, 20189. The location was Swanage and the date, 11th May 2013.

This is a shot from Toton taken on 10th May 2013. In the picture are EWS (DBS) class 60s, 60051, 60022 and 60052 (behind) all in store, and class 08, 08994 with its cut down cab from when it worked in South Wales on the ex Burry Port and Gwyndraeth Railway.
