Another Baker's Dozen

The voting has now finished for the 2012 photograph and photographer of the year competitions in both Winwick and Alternative sections (four awards). The results will be published in the next post. Also published will be the results of the 2013 'Pic of the Month' January,  competition.

Thirteen new pics comprise today's post, 1st March 2013.


WINWICK



First up is Jeff Nicholl's shot of EWS (DBS) class 66, 66113 exiting Latchford Sidings with a gypsum working. The pic is dated 6th February 2013.

The second pic is also from Jeff. Pictured is EWS (DBS) class 66, 66058 on coal working through Winwick on 2nd February 2013.

Matthew Chambers has sent in the next two pics. Number three features EWS (DBS) class 66, 66186 standing at Bank Quay (driver change?) with a gypsum working.  This pic is dated 25th February 2013.

Matthew's next pic, number four, shows a GBRf pairing of 66709 Joseph Arnold Davies and 66738 (dead in tow) at Bank Quay. This pic was also taken on 25th February 2013. The working was coal.

ALTERNATIVE UK PICS



David Quayle visited the ELR Gala this weekend and the next four pics were all taken at the event. Pic number five shows the Peppercorn class 'K1' design 2-6-2 locomotive No.62005 (ex LNER) beside Gresley (ex LNER) 'K4' class 4-6-0, No 61994 The Great Marquess. The location was Heywood and the date, 24th February 2013.

Pic number six from David shows No.62005 again but situated near the signal box at Bury. The date was 24th February again.

The same loco is shown again in pic number seven, but at Irwell Vale. The date was 24th February 2013 and the loco was on a passenger service.

David's final shot, number eight, was taken at Bury Baron Street on 24th February 2013. Ex BR 'Standard' class '4MT' 2-6-4, No.80080 is the focal point surrounded with steam.

David Wood was at Bury on the same day, 24th February 2013 and shot ex GNR class 'N2' 0-6-2 tank, No.1744 (BR No.69523), as it was leaving with a passenger service. This is pic number nine.

David Wood was also at Chorlton on 20th February 2013 to photograph ex Stobart Rail class 66, 66414, now part of the Freightliner fleet - pic number ten.  The working was an intermodal.

Our eleventh pic has been sent in by Matthew Chambers. Taken at Tamworth on 7th February 2013, the pictured loco is DBS class 60, 60063 on a tanks (fuel?) working.

Up next, pics numbered twelve and thirteen, show two more ELR Gala subjects from last weekend. We were strongly represented at the Gala with Colin Platt the third person to post pics from this event. Pic twelve shows ex BR 'Standard' class '4MT' 2-6-4, No.80080 leaving Ramsbottom with a passenger service.

The voting system is simple - just send me the yellow February code numbers of the three pics you have chosen as 1st, 2nd and 3rd in each section, Winwick and Alternatives (UK and World combined). All February dated pics posted between February 2nd and today, March 1st (inclusive), are eligible and have code numbers. My email address is at the top of the blog.
